Have you heard? The annual ACFW
conference is the premier writers’
conference for writers of Christian fiction. The 2012 conference will
be held in Dallas, Texas, at the beautiful Hyatt Regency hotel,
September 20−23. With the incomparable Michael Hyatt as our keynote
speaker and the amazing Nancy Kress as our early bird presenter, this
year’s conference is poised to be our best yet.
The conference has six
Continuing Education tracks and more than thirty workshops to choose
from. Presenters include some of the top agents and editors in the
industry, representatives from CBA and ECPA, as well as booksellers and
award-winning, best-selling authors. If you want to learn how to
improve your writing, these classes will help. Davis Bunn, Tricia
Goyer, Jim Rubart, Susan May Warren, and Cindy Woodsmall are just a few
of the authors presenting in the Continuing Education tracks.
In addition to the wealth of
classes, attendees have the opportunity to meet one-on-one in
fifteen-minute appointments with editors, agents, mentors, or PR/Media
professionals. These sessions provide a great way for writers to learn
firsthand about the writing industry from professionals in the
business, to pitch manuscripts or works in progress, and to brainstorm
ideas.
Confirmed literary agencies
attending and taking appointments include: Alive Communications, Books
& Such, Creative Trust, Hartline Agency, Les Stobbe Agency,
MacGregory Literary, Steve Laube Agency, The Seymour Agency, and
WordServe Literary.

Interactive, Thomas Umstattd of Author Media, and Jeane Wynn of

What sets the ACFW annual
conference apart from the rest of the writing conferences held around
the country? Aside from the amazing sessions and wealth of appointment
opportunities, we focus solely on Christian fiction, provide a fully
staffed prayer room during the entire conference, and have a full
worship/praise band that leads worship each day. Our awards gala,
broadcast live over the Internet, honors the best of the best: ACFW
Agent of the Year Award, ACFW Editor of the Year Award, ACFW Lifetime
Achievement Award, ACFW Mentor of the Year Award, ACFW Member Service
Award, the prestigious ACFW Carol Awards, recognizing the best
published novels in a variety of categories, and the ACFW Genesis
Awards for the top unpublished authors.
Dedicated to helping authors and
committed to passing every available savings to the attendees, ACFW has
managed to keep the registration fee the same for the past three years.
We offer daily rates as well as guest meals-only options in addition to
full registrations. We also make available tickets to our awards gala
on Saturday evening.
Conference registration is
scheduled to open in early April. Make plans to attend now. For more
information and up-to-the-minute updates, visit the conference Web
