Lucky me! William Hanna of the famed Hanna/Barbera took this fledgling screenwriter under his wing and taught me how it’s done. I walked the colorful hallways of this historic studio with all of its stellar characters calling from the walls, “You can do this!” Yep, I learned my craft by doing everything from painting cartoon cells to finally moving into my office in the writer’s wing of the studio.

I was one of the first women to write animation in Hollywood. It’s true. It was definitely an old boy’s club. But with Bill’s mentoring, I cracked that celluloid ceiling. It was an amazing time in my life.

During my years in Hollywood, I wrote for many animation and live action shows, including Another World, Knots Landing, The Incredible Hulk, and Fantasy Island. I was one of the first writers on Hollywood Squares. (Oh, yes, there were and are writers!) I remember the first day of shooting at NBC Studios in Burbank; the writers were used as “trial celebrities.” Mainly to see if the gigantic tic-tac-toe box was going to stand up! It was shaky but, as you know, it is still standing.

Though retired from Hollywood, I was in no way ready to stop creating film and video. So now I’m in my second career. I write and produce mini-movie book videos for authors and publishers. It is great fun and so challenging.

I began Trailer to the Stars a little over two years ago. Because of my close connection with American Christian Fiction Writers (I was one of the founders), I had many authors as friends. Creating one video led to two, two led to four, and here I am today with a roster of wonderful best-selling authors and top publishing companies.

Insiders know that Book Trailers are hot! They hit the scene a couple of years ago as a creative way for publishers to promote and market their new titles. I thought, why should an author wait for someone else to decide if their book gets marketing $$$$! Having had a number of books published myself, I know it from both sides. So I started my trailer production company.
