December 1st 2009
Dear Readers,
As we enter into this final
month of the year, there is always the penchant for melancholy
associated with the darkness and cold weather of winter. But to me, the
month that we celebrate our Lord and Savior’s birth brings all new
excitement.
I eagerly await the lights, the
decorations, the smell of fresh cut pine, the plethora of decadently
sweet Christmas treats, all the extra trips to the gym to keep those
same treats from taking up residence on my lower extremities…uh, oh,
well that’s another story! But you get my drift.
People are just so much nicer to
each other at this time of year. I think the Lord purposely softens
people’s hearts so that we can find ways to spread His Word, be it with
Christmas programs, a kind deed, a happy word like, “Merry Christmas”
accompanied by a smile, or even gifting a friend with a great Christian
fiction novel.
Let us all endeavor to gift
those around us with the knowledge of Our Lord Jesus. It is the best
Christmas present they could ever receive.
We want to welcome two new
permanent columnists this month…Dee Stewart at Multicultural Fiction, and Donald
James Parker as our resident expert for POD and Self-Publishing. And at
the same time say a fond farewell to Michelle Levigne over at Fiction
Rants, Mary DeMuth at Write Real, and Kelly Mortimer at Gotta Get It!?
This will also be the last month
for our Cover interviewer Valerie Faulkner. Starting in January Cover
interviews will be brought to you by the prolific review maven Kim
Ford. And we have new columns to introduce…LOL…but I need leave
something to tell you next month!
Merry Christmas to all…and
remember…Jesus Is The Reason For The Season!
