Fiction Finder
(http://www.fictionfinder.com)
is a project of American Christian Fiction Writers developed to
revolutionize the chore of finding Christian fiction among the millions
of novels available. ACFW promotes Christian fiction through developing
the skills of its authors, educating them in the market, and serving as
an advocate in the industry. Published ACFW authors enjoy the
promotional benefits provided by the group which include announcing new
book releases, the opportunity to have a book featured in the ACFW Book
Club, and the Featured Author interviews published on the Web site,
which attracts thousands of visitors each month.
And now the new tool for
everyone, http://www.fictionfinder.com,
is available to simplify finding Christian fiction in stores,
libraries, and at home by just pointing and clicking. No more wading
through tons of nonsense on the Web to find your favorite authors or
try new ones based on social issues, genres, favorite author, and even
age-appropriate material. It’s a spectacular new resource for everyone
from the bookstore employee to the librarian to the reader.
How can Fiction Finder help?

Resources

If you're a reader, writer, or
publisher of inspirational fiction
(mystery, suspense, romance, women's fiction, sci-fi, fantasy,
historical, chick lit, etc.), you've come to the right place! We've
designed this Website as an easy-access resource where you can find the
latest in Christian fiction or that book you read 15 years ago and
would like to find again.
Explore the database and you
just might find a new favorite author
or a current favorite's book you didn't know about. Through our
advanced search you can locate for books based on issue, setting, and
levels of suspense, romance and so much more. Use this site to discover
novels that appeal to you. If you like what you see, register for free.
The site can remember your settings to make return visits simple.
Currently we have more than 125
authors and 440 books loaded in the
system. And while this is a project of ACFW, inclusion is not limited
to ACFW member authors. Instead, our desire is for it to be a
comprehensive site filled with Christian fiction.
We created this site after
meeting with bookstore managers and
asking how we could better serve them. As a result, users can add a
notation of books similar to another book, or in the same genre or
author's style, and much more. Readers even have the ability to add
short reviews of books. This project launched at the end of September
and we are excited to market it to Christian bookstores, libraries, and
readers.
Fiction Finder is rolling
along—but we need you! Even if you haven’t
had a book published, your contribution to FictionFinder will be huge!
We need readers to input short reviews on the included books. We need
you to tell us what authors are like other authors. We need you to tell
us what books are similar to those in the system.
Our ACFW representatives are
talking to the marketing people at
publishers about Fiction Finder. But that’s only the beginning. Next
are libraries, bookstores, and so much more. To make the tool really
useful, we need you to go add your reviews and other input. Please take
a few minutes, create a reader account, and then pick your ten favorite
books there and enter a short review.
Authors, publishers, publicists:
Please login to your author account at http://www.fictionfinder.com.
Your first step is to upload information about yourself. This will take
only a minute, but will give readers access to key information,
including your Web sites and blogs, bio, a photo and the genres you
write. The information about authors you are similar to will be
uploaded by readers.
American Christian Fiction
Writers is thrilled to bring this new
tool to the industry, and we look forward to the wonderful addition it
will be for our readers, authors, publishers, bookstore owners,
libraries, and other industry professionals. We have been truly blessed
by the volunteer efforts of many ACFW members in the development and
thank God for the long hours over more than a year that went into the
creation of this opportunity for all of us!
With special thanks for their
efforts in the creation of the ACFW’s Fictionfinder.com site we’d like
to recogize:
