Dear Reader,
Christian Fiction Online Magazine celebrated its first birthday last month. Now we are plunging into a whole new year. Both Bonnie and I are going to writers conferences. Her Greater Philly Christian Writers conference is in August, and my American Christian Fiction Writers conference is in September. Bonnie and I plan to touch bases with many editors, agents, and writers and see what new talent we might discover in the process. Have a great idea or short story? Contact us and tell us what you have to offer. As the magazine’s editor-in-chief, I do acquisitions for new content and columns. I’m always open to hearing new ideas. You may also approach Bonnie, who will refer you back to me.
Many people around the world are still celebrating summer. In Arizona, students start the new school year the first week of August. I know, it’s crazy, but in Arizona it makes sense because it’s too hot to do much in August anyway. So why not read a great book if you are stuck indoors or simply trying to stay out of the heat? If you don’t know what to read, check out our blog tour page and see what we’re touring this month. You can also check out our many columnists pages and read their bios and ads for their latest releases. And don’t forget we have a reviewer’s corner as well. This month the focus is on Women’s Fiction.
CFOM continues to provide fun contests for our readers. The winner pays no money to participate. There are no gimmicks or catches, just plain fun . . . and it’s all free. So why not toss your name in this month and see if you’ll be our next winner. All you have to do is sign up and then check back at the beginning of the following month to see if you’ve won. If you don’t claim your prize, it goes toward the next Box O’ Books contest. If you’d like to promote one of your books, check out former giveaways to get an idea of how it’s done. Then contact me through this publication by clicking on the Contact Us tab and filling out the form. We are booking giveaways into 2010.
For the month of August, CFOM has instituted no changes to any columns. We’ve got strong columnists and steady content that is compelling and user-friendly. If you are an aspiring author make sure to check out our writing columns. Peace!
